Bearing Fruit in AlaskaWritten by Elaine Heath on March 29, 2013 | Found in: Academy
Rev. Robert Hicks sends good news from Alaska:
"Mat-Su PLUME Outreach, an association of Presbyterian, ELCA Lutheran, United Methodist, and Episcopal churches in the Mat-Su Valley of Alaska, is actively seeking to plant missional communities in outlying areas that are presently without a mainline witness. They have chosen the missional community (MC) model. Sutton is emerging as the first among many MCs planned for the Mat-Su. They meet once a month for potluck and conversation around the Bible, once a month for Eucharist and prayers, and once a month to offer children an after-school Bible Kids' Club."
In response, Dr. Elaine Heath said, "Robert received training to start this community through the Academy of Missional Wisdom. We are so excited to see how this new community will grow and bear fruit in Sutton and beyond."
