Hello Dear Friends and Supporters of the Missional Wisdom Foundation,

I would like to take a moment of your time today and tell you about a very special annual event, The Epworth Service of Sending Forth. For the past several years the communities of the Epworth Project located around Dallas and in Waco have come together in May to honor and commemorate the events of the past year in Epworth. This is one of my favorite services because it allows everyone to share and reflect on the ways in which our various communities have been in ministry to their surrounding neighborhoods become closer to Christ through prayer and service and grown to closer to one another through living as family in intentional Christian community. Perhaps the best part of this service is that time when we are afforded an opportunity to pray for those members within each community that are transitioning out of the communities at that time.  It is wonderful to be a part of praying for somebody in this way because we as a community are letting them know that the love and values that they learned while in the Epworth Project will continue on with them as they go forward to meet whatever God has in store for them next.

We would invite you, our friends and fellow laborers in Christ, to join us in prayer as we approach this year’s Sending Forth to Service on Saturday, May 7. This year’s service will be a unique opportunity because not only do we have residents who are moving on to face new and dynamite challenges, we are also sending forth the members of the Peace House and walking with them as they prepare to take the values and wisdom of Christian community in the Epworthstyle to North Carolina and Duke Divinity School. We would invite you if you are able to join us for a time of celebration, prayer and reflection and an opportunity to be a part of the cloud of witnesses surrounding the Epworth Project as we continue in the rhythm of life by paying tribute to what has been while anxiously anticipating the work of God that awaits us in the coming year.

The service will be held on Saturday, May 7, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Main Sanctuary at Grace UMC, 4105 Junius Street, Dallas, Texas.  Many blessings and great thanks for your love, prayers and support from your friends in the Epworth Project and the staff and leadership of the Missional Wisdom Foundation.
